Control
Application Metering and Control
Control and restrict the application usage of your Students. Identify both active and minimised applications, displaying the actual application icon next to each Student name. Drag and Drop applications into either an "Approved" or "Restricted" list. To ensure maximum Student attention, a specified application can be opened on all or selected Student PCs. A history of software / application usage is also kept for the duration of the lesson. The Tutor is also able to set specific application usage restrictions on a per Student basis together with the standard overall class restrictions. With NetSupport School you can :
- Monitor all Student Application use.
- View background applications running on all PCs.
- Open and Close applications on all selected PCs in a single action.
- Record a full history of application use for the class.
- Allow the use of all applications.
- Prevent restricted applications from running.
- Allow only approved applications to run.
Internet Metering and Control
Identify active and background URL's running on Student PCs. Drag & drop URL's into "Approved" or "Restricted" lists. NetSupport School will automatically direct Students to a local webpage displaying "locked" information if they attempt to visit a restricted website. To aid in Student usability, while Internet restrictions are in force, a list of approved websites will be presented to Students in their browser to aid navigation.
The Tutor can also open specified webpages on all Student workstations. A record is also kept of all Student Internet activity for the duration of the lesson. A further "Block All Internet Access" option has been added whereby a Tutor can quickly disable all access in a single action from within any area of NetSupport School. You can :
- Monitor all Student Internet use.
- View background websites open on all PCs.
- Open and Close websites on all selected PCs in a single action.
- Record a full history of internet use for the class.
- Allow access to all websites.
- Prevent access to any websites.
- Prevent access to restricted websites.
- Allow access to approved websites only.

Internet SafeSearch
In addiction to the above, the latest version of NetSupport School provides a new "SafeSearch" feature, which overrides the search preferences for most leading search engines, applies content filtering and prevents inappropriate text or images being returned within each engines search results.
Powerful Remote Control

NetSupport School features a powerful print management component allowing total control over printer usage within the classroom. Students can be prevented from printing, can be assigned page limits per lesson or require Teacher authorisation. Thresholds can be applied for a lesson defining maximum size of print jobs, auto deletion rules and more.
